The School Board Wednesday night, March 21, to delay a decision on a proposed 2012-13 school budget.
By a vote of 4-4 Board Members defeated a motion to approve a revised budget proposal that would have included a 2% across-the-board raise for all employees, choosing instead to explore additional options for spending reductions and for enhancing the pay increase.
Board Chairman-at-Large Milton Johns called a Board meeting for next Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. At that time, Board Members will entertain new budget motions and approve a final spending plan prior to the April 1deadline for submitting the package to Board of County Supervisors.
